Backyard Inflatables
How can I entertain 80 people in a small backyard? I am having a 4th of July party on a low budget.?
I dont have much room but I want people to have activities besides the usual washers. I also was wondering how exspensive it would be to rent one of those Inflatable deals for the kids. Thanks
I would scratch the inflatable jumping pad because of the space and liability issues. They cost several hundred dollars plus damage insurance. Kids are happy with a pick up game of Frisbee or ball.
Wow, 80 is a lot of people. What do you do if it rains?
The easiest way to keep expenses down is BYO for the alcoholic beverages; you can provide the soft drinks and set ups.
Most guests are happy to bring a dish to a barbecue. If you provide the paper goods, hamburgers & hot dogs, and condiments, it's okay to ask others to bring a salad, dessert, or a covered dish item. When I planned my DH's birthday party, I had 40 guests. I didn't ask anyone to help, but they all offered to bring a dish.
Line the perimeter of the yard with chairs for sitting. Have lots of finger foods that don't need to be cut into smaller pieces. You can play tunes on the Ipod.

The Backyard - $8.99 As professional wrestling exploded into new heights of popularity in the 1990s thanks to stars such as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, and Mick Foley, a new breed of amateur wrestling began to grow in its shadow -- "backyard wrestling," in which young fans would recreate the outsized personas and bloody, bone-crushing stunts of the big time wrestlers while adding a few bizarre low-budget touches of their own. The Backyard is a documentary which presents an objective portrait of the bizarre world of backyard wrestling, focusing on the folks in the ring (mostly teenagers) and how and why they literally make themselves bleed for audiences who often number less than a dozen. Some dream of stardom (with a few forming their own semi-pro leagues), while others simply thrive on the attention and adrenaline. The filmmakers also visit with the friends and families of the young grapplers, some of who are genuinely supportive while others are visibly appalled at the antics in the makeshift rings. WWE star Rob Van Dam also makes a guest appearance. The Backyard had its world premier at the 2002 South by Southwest Film Festival, and has since won prizes at the 2002 Edinburgh International Film Festival, the 2003 Texas Film Festival, and the 2003 Brooklyn Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |
