If it is fully surrounded by highly durable cloth material can a flimsy little beach ball take around 40 psi?
The reason for this question is that there is a rather complex inflatable air bladder that I need to have made by a company. However, there seems to be complications and it is very labor intensive to create what i want, hence, the estimates given were in excess of $6,000. I know that using conventional rolled vinyl or PVC would be extremely feasible and much, much cheaper. I just want to know that it can take the pressure if surrounding material can take the pressure. I realize the air gate or valve stem would have to be sufficient.
durable means resistant to wear, and that will not help in this situation.
Yes, the surrounding material could provide some support. Look at it as a football which has an inner coating of air proof material, and the outer layer of leather for strength.
Is it sufficient – is the question that cannot be answered, you will have to design it well.
