Anniversary Invite Etiquette question?
I am throwing a party for our 10th wedding anniversary. It is going to be a casual party in our back yard. I will be making all of the food. The pool will be open as well as the inflatable Water Slide and Bounce House. Kids are invited as well.
The issue is that I don't want our guest to feel that they need to buy us gifts. Is it tacky to write "no gifts" in the invites?
Is there a way to word it that doesn't sound so......well that sounds better?
According to etiquette, you never imply that you expect gifts, so you wouldn't put anything on the invitations one way or another. To say "no gifts" implies that otherwise you'd expect them. Just be gracious if you do get any.
