Do I need a lawyer to keep my yard display up?
ok here is the situation. I have lived in my current house for five years ( I own it) every year since i have lived here I have decorated for Halloween and Christmas. This summer I got a new neighbor and he is trying to get a restraining order to make me take down my Christmas Decorations!!! Now my yard display is not that large it consists of about 10 items, 3 Inflatables 1 santa 1 snowman and 1 train. I also have a small deer and sleight display about 5 foot long. As far as light I only have lights on the eves of my house and 2 trees that go off at 10pm every night. I have gotten a summons to go to court over this my question is do I need a lawyer to fight this?

He'll have to show that your display is interfering with the *reasonable* enjoyment of his property (and being annoyed isn't enough). We're talking lights so bright that he hasn't slept a wink in days, your property is drawing large crowds of people, it's August and completely inappropriate, you're in an HOA and long ago agreed not to have lights, that kind of thing.
Likely he already took pictures, but you should take your own tonight so you can show the judge exactly what the display looks like. If it's as normal as you describe (on the extravagant end of typical, but can't be seen from space), the judge will deny his request and tell him to draw his curtains.
Might as well represent yourself for the half-hour this is going to take.
