Should I invite this kid to my son's 4th birthday party?
My son is turning 4 and we are having his party at Pump It Up (inflatable bounce place). In addition to our family friends, I have room for him to invite 6 of his preschool friends. The teacher said it was fine not to invite everyone and of course I'll invite them discreetly. I just am confused on whether I should invite this one child my son doesn't like at all in class but whose mother I really like. I worry that since our kids will be in the same class together next year, I don't want her to be upset. I don't know how she will be but do know some people can really get upset over not being invited. Just wanted to get opinions on this situation. My husband and I will be at the party, in addition to a bunch of other kids, so my son most likely won't even really notice/care that one kid is there when he's having fun. I rather not invite him though but just really worry the mom will be offended.
Maybe you should ask your son WHY he doesn't like this little boy. If he's violent or aggressive toward him, mean or rude to him then absolutely not! Or you could try to talk with his mother. Say my son is having a little conflict with your son and I just want to smooth everything out so his mother doesn't feel that you don't like her little boy. It's all up to you. Whatever you feel is best for the party and best for your friendship with his mother.
